A brief History

Derek Moore founded Shermoore Ltd in 2005 to provide a change management service to SME. He identified an opportunity to provide these services at an affordable cost to companies who may have been reluctant to use the larger and more expensive market providers with their higher overheads. In today’s challenging commercial environment, business’s more than ever need to get best value from all their suppliers and Shermoore provides this client value. Derek originally began his manufacturing career on the shop-floor before moving into progressively more senior management roles eventually leading to ten years as a director firstly at Atlantic Plastics Ltd then at Tyco as a Group Operations Director.

This experience included as might be expected, a great deal of change management often following company acquisitions. The early years on the shop floor certainly helped balance the big picture with a firm conviction of the need to empower the shop floor supervision along with all the stake holders if projects are to deliver their impact. Derek believes that the combination of a first hand shop floor background combined with the more strategic executive skill set gives Shermoore an edge over more traditional interim providers.

Shermoore has worked with clients within a broad scope of manufacturing sectors including specialist auto, plastic moulding, precision / light engineering and computer hardware.

The range of successful change management projects to date has included:

• Supply chain / MRP implementation,
• Continuous improvement using Six Sigma / Lean tools
• Re-energising stalled projects
